Colin Cook

Colin Cook is a senior sports business executive and former elite hockey player with 20 years of coaching and player development experience and a decade of business experience working with some of the biggest brands in global sport.

His passion for the game of hockey has been core to his life since a very young age growing up in Halifax, Nova Scotia. His playing career gives him a diverse and nuanced perspective on player development, after playing for the Dartmouth Subways, Northwood School, Canadian Jr A and U-Sports (DI) at the Royal Military College of Canada. A passionate teacher of the game, he has been fortunate to have worked as a skills development and strength coach with a number of current NHL, AHL, European Pro and Division I players during their youth hockey careers.

Professionally, Colin serves as Vice President of NFL & Strategy with Legends, a global sports and entertainment agency focused on supporting the world’s greatest teams, leagues and brands during periods of major transformation. Within Legends, Colin has been tasked with for the growth of Legends’ client portfolio in the NFL and applying strategic rigor to business operations, new client pitches and standing up new project teams around the world including the Buffalo Bills, Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and numerous other teams throughout North America and Europe.

Local to Western New York, Colin is also responsible for the development and leadership of a 40-person team and oversees all marketing campaigns, brand & creative development, PR, data analytics, revenue strategy, product design, suite sales and season ticket sales for the Buffalo Bills’ New Highmark Stadium. He is heavily involved in stadium design & development, revenue and operational leadership, and strategy consulting for the Bills ownership and executive team.

Prior to joining Legends, he spent four years in sales and sales management roles with the Tampa Bay Lightning during the revitalization of the franchise, which included over 200+ straight sell-outs, growing the game via youth hockey outreach and skills coaching across the Tampa Bay area and hosting multiple Eastern Conference Finals, the NHL All Star Game and the NCAA Frozen Four.

Colin is a seasoned leader who is passionate about tackling complicated problems and leading new ventures to build strong teams and organizations. He is most passionate about leadership development and helping his team members and young players achieve their career and developmental goals.

Colin is a proud military service academy graduate, former Army Officer, and Academic All-Canadian. He holds a BA (Honours) in Political Science from the Royal Military College of Canada and an MBA from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.
