The HIRE Approach

A clear intentional system for long-term player development.

  • We build real connections with every player

  • We explain the why behind every drill

  • We coach athletes, not just skills

How We Coach:

The Program

  • Our summer group skates are built around a clear development progression for each age group across the entire summer, with a 1-to-5 coach-to-player ratio. Sessions focus on skills that translate directly to game situations, with structure that builds week to week.

  • Our coaching is centered on helping players understand the why behind every drill and situation. Coaches build real relationships with athletes while providing clear instruction and feedback that leads to better decision-making and execution.

  • Ongoing support throughout the summer to help players stay focused and progressing. Coaches remain available to provide guidance, answer questions, and support development beyond just the on-ice sessions.

What’s Included

  • Hockey coach giving instructions during practice, with young players wearing helmets gathered around on the ice rink.

    On-Ice Skill Development

On-ice sessions follow a structured summer progression by age group, emphasizing game-transferable skills, pace, and concepts that build consistently week to week.

    Off-Ice Skill Development

Off-ice workouts support on-ice performance through movement quality, strength development, speed mechanics, conditioning, and mobility without unnecessary fatigue.

  • A male ice hockey coach instructing a young player on the ice rink. The coach is wearing a black jacket, black gloves, and a black beanie, while the young player is in a white jersey and helmet.

    Biweekly Coaching Feedback

Written feedback is provided every two weeks by the player’s assigned summer coach, outlining strengths, focus areas, and clear next development steps.
